6.2L L86 Push Rod Replacement
Found 1 failed push rod at #4 and #6 in my 2015 6.2L L86. I replaced all 16 with Brian Tooley Racing PR7850312 BTR. That Charles has for sale and shipping. I rotated the engine with the spark plugs out and while replacing the push rods I turned the crank over several times.
On initial start it was noisy as the lifters pressurized with oil and returned to their normal condition. I only ran it for a few seconds twice to allow oil pressure to build. After the third start it was quiet again. I know I should have cranked it over with the plugs disconnected.
Truck is running great again and there is no more ticking. Using the Range AFM disable device until I can send the ECM for programming.
My question is whether the 10 or 15 seconds of running it twice may have done any damage to the valve train?
I will be removing and cutting open the oil filter to inspect the pleats for signs of metal.
Just want to hear anyone's opinion or experiences.
Thanks!!
Jimbo

Thanks Charles! I will be sure to post photos of what I find.
